cepstral in vicidial 2.6?

i read cepstral don`t works in asterisk 1.4 that is true?

can i use cepstral in Vicibox 4.0 ?

Cepstral's newest version requires asterisk 1.6 (or above). Vicidial works only with asterisk 1.4 or 1.2.

Our solution has been to put cepstral on a different box and pass the sound to the vicidial server externally. In a way this works out because then the cepstral server can "serve" several Vicidial servers simultaneously (spreading the licenses among several vicidial servers in a way, instead of having to purchase enough licenses on each vicidial server to cover the bet).

I can confirm that the new Cepstral works just fine with Vicidial. This is because we use it in batch mode and not real-time mode, so there is no direct connection between Cepstral and Vicidial. We just did an install this week of the new Cepstral and it's been working flawlessly.

I have not had a client purchase the license for "write to disk" on the new version ("batch mode") as yet. And those who did before claimed the resulting voice "sounded like she had rocks in her mouth" ... but when played directly on the channel they liked it. Have to go with the client preference ... and to get it to play directly on a channel requires 1.6.

We have dozens of client servers running Cepstral, and the live TTS that I have tested sounds exactly the same as the save-to-file TTS.

And I've copied that setup (built some seriously deeper versions of a couple, leading to a full agi driven automated data collection system ...) and even inherited one that you built ... and the client "no likey" the voice. (I, personally, don't care ... I just work here, right? LOL).

Newer clients read the licensing from Cepstral and purchase the "1.6 only" live channel voices. So we install what they purchase. I've never actually purchased one myself.

AFAIK, the only reference is the Vicidial Manager's Manual and the help screens in Vicidial (and in some cases the text of the .agi and other scripts begins with detailed instructions on invoking some of the scripts).
