Postby markirving » Sun Nov 25, 2012 12:55 am

Hi,

VICIBOX v3.1.15 - VICIDIAL2.4-357a - Asterisk 1.4.39.2-vici - Single Server - Digium Wildcard TE410P (3rd Gen) (VPMOCT128)

I am getting these errors in my cli and cannot make outgoing calls:

Our provider told me that the number should be 7digits and it should have a prefix of 02. This is the first time we are using e1 so Please help! Thanks alot!

there are many items to account for in provisioning an E1. Having "02" in front of each phone number is not even related to the provisioning, that's for dialing after. You should therefore list all the other provisioning information given by your E1 provider.

Location also makes a difference (usually in the "unmentioned" provisioning items that the E1 provider "assumes" you know because it's "always like that" in your area, as far as they know). So listing your location is also helpful.

And last but not least there is installation and configuration according to the installer .iso and the digium install scripts. Was the E1 card installed before you installed Vicidial or was it "added" after? What installation information have you provided to the install script? Have you checked the digium instructions to make this card work in asterisk 1.4? (If so, what scripts have you executed and what information did you provide them?).

Configuring your E1 card several times will not hurt anything if the system is not already running, but can be educational. Finding the appropriate Digium installation instructions helps quite a bit. Merging a functional E1 trunk group with Vicidial after it is running is not particularly difficult. Mostly, though: getting used to installing that E1 in your system manually and again during .iso installation BEFORE the system is operational (so you can practice doing it several times ... and become very familiar with the necessary steps and tools ...) is highly recommended.

This forum has several examples of some of these commands, but installing a digium E1 card in an asterisk system with version 1.4 is covered on many different asterisk forums and by digium itself.

Have you tried to disable the crc4 -framing from the system.conf? I've had some similar problems with E1 connections and framing.
