Create Local DID

Hi,

I would like to create a local DID that is not a VOIP dependent (since I do not want to buy DID from VOIP). I will just need to create a local number that is within my server and this will serves as like a true DID like the one we purchase from a VOIP provider.

Setup:
create a local DID
Add it up to Inbound>Add new DID
route it to In-groups
route in-groups to campaign

Objective
i have 2 different single server that the 1st server will create local DID and 2nd server will just connect to the 1st server via IAX2. the people on the 2nd server will dial the local DID that I have created from the 1st server then it will routed to the 1st server Campaign the I have setup.

create matching "carrier" entries on the two servers and be sure the one receiving the calls has "context=trunkinbound". Everything else is normal because as far as the "calling" server is concerned your "receiving" server IS a voip provider (because it is). And as far as your "receiving" server is concerned, someone dialed a DID (because they did).

gotcha, but how do I create now a local DID?

for the 1st server only. I needed to put up an inbound campaign that is within local server

Instead of buying DID from VOIP i will just create this within the server. then set it up under Inbound Menu

DIDs are created in the Ingroup menu, in a submenu for DIDs. You would choose add a new DID ...
