how to put a number to DNC for INBOUND campaign

Postby prince.fer » Thu Jun 03, 2010 8:01 am

Hi Group,

I am using astguiclient-2.2.0rc6. with asterisk-1.4.27. I am running inbound campaign. I am getting lots of unwanted calls to my inbound campaign. I
want to block those unwanted calls.

After adding the number to DNC from LIST->ADD NUMBER TO DNC
and
Use Internal DNC List: Y
Use Campaign DNC List : Y

Still i can get the call from number listed in DNC database..

How can i use DNC for inbound campaign to avoid getting unwanted calls.

Thanks

Regards

DNC, means Do Not Call, it does not block inbound calls in any way. This does sound like a good feature request though.

You can do that directly in the dialplan, and I have done this in the past using a custom AGI that would route customers to different phone numbers depending on their status in a client database(including a black-list)

Hello,

I have done this with help of a filter phone group (FPG) assigned to my DID's - that's pretty easy and straight forward.

The only thing I do not know for sure is if there are already FPG's in Vicidial 2.2.0rc6?

Install that version via SVN on a VMWare machine ... and check! :)

considering how much time it takes to try to get answers here, often it's much faster to set up a virtual server and play with it. better yet, since there's a reset button back to "just installed", you'd always have a machine you coul test theories on. we've found it very useful (and a massive time saver compared to physical installs!)

I know you are right with the vm's and I use them often too...

But what I really wanted to say is that this is not my outdated server - and the user isn't one of my customers too...

I am pleased to help everyone if I can but I do not want to do other users work for nothing.

Sorry -

1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

goautodial 2.1 from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

3) Please note that while goautodial is an installer for Vicidial, it's not the ONLY installer for Vicidial. In fact, it's not approved by The Vicidial Group (Vicibox.com's .iso is the only one approved by The Vicidial Group). If you have a reason to use goautodial (such as a corporate requirement for CentOS, of course, then you're stuck ... otherwise, Vicibox is the way to go. Just sayin' ... :)

4) Filter Phone Groups (Under "Inbound=>Filter Phone Groups") can be created and applied to DIDs that will then auto-block inbound calls based on Caller ID of the calling party.

5) Seriously consider upgrading or a fresh install. Your version of Vicidial is Very Old. :) (Yes it's possible to bring all your data along for the ride and upgrade it to the latest Vicidial version).

Happy Hunting! 8-)
