How to eliminate the agent...

I want to try something. I have been looking for documentation and must not be looking in the right place. Two things I want to do are:
1- dial out and play a recording when the dialed party answers rather than an agent being required.
2- with AMD, I want to detect a answering machine and have a pre-recorded message played to the voicemail instead of the agent doing it.
Any direction would be appreciated.
