after the installation is done and reboot it says Kernel Panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs and hang. i also created bootdisk for this. i also tried mount boot=/dev/sda 1 to 3

how can i edit my lilo.conf as the system hangs.

my pc has 2 sata

please help me...

Not sure what to tell you. If you select the sata.i boot image at the end of the installation process it should boot up just fine. I have never had a problem with that on the SATA servers I've installed on.

Now it works here is what i used:

1. first time, dont boot with default kernel, when the first cd asks for kernel specify sata.i

2. after installation, in the configuration part where u are again asked to specify the kernel . at this time chose sata.i from the first cd.

And it works well.. thanks thanks =D
