Ringback

Postby GaD » Fri Mar 23, 2012 4:58 pm

Hi all!

I have a couple of ViciBoxes running in a few call centers. In all my scenarios I have an Asterisk 'in front' of the Vici. I plan to move to OpenSIPs in a very near future. Here is my question. I've read all around that there seem to be problems with ringback when calling out manually. Most posts say 'contact your carrier', wel..., I am my own carrier.... I'm connecting the boxes though an IAX2 trunk I have place in the settings progressinband=yes in the IAX2 conf files. I hace played with the TorR settings at the end of the 'Dial' statement with no luck.

I want to try to avoid using the AsterLoop in the Vici box as well if possible...

Has anyone figured out or has any ideas what *else* I should check?

Thanks!

problems with ringback
I hope you are referring vaguely to "Manual dial calls do not generate a ring for the agent to hear". Otherwise, I'm lost.

Installing and configuring BriStuff properly should resolve the issue by allowing the generation of a ring tone regardless of the carrier. But no client to date has paid for this to be fully researched and resolved.

Hi Guys

I am interested in this too as I am also my own provider for my call centres that I supply vicidial to and have always had problems with no ringing on manual calls.

Does Bristuff make any difference in a purely SIP environment?

Or if you are using the dial prefix of 9 on your campaign you can try changing the manual dial prefix to 88. This forces the call through the local loopback channel before going out the carrier. The loopback causes the call to auto answer immediately and the agent hears the actual outbound call going out. Make sure your carrier entry also does not have the 'r' option in the dial command or you can get some weird things happening.
