Sangoma CPA assistance

Postby travian.ck » Mon Mar 26, 2012 5:33 pm

Hi,

Dialer: GoAutoDial 2.1 NO Extra s/w - Quad Core 4GB RAM
SANGOMA CPA Server: Windows XP SP3 - Intel Core i5 4GB RAM
License: Trial / Testing yet
Version: 2.0.3

Finally managed to get the settings right,
alot of variation between
http://wiki.vicidial.org/index.php/VICI:NetBorder
and http://wiki.sangoma.com/netborder-call- ... tion-guide

Still have some unanswered questions after searching for a while.
I would be grategul to get, before we purchase the licenses.

1) Is it true that CPA "does not" work with authentication based SIP providers? Any hacks like routing calls through a local sip switch on the LAN?

2) Does the new version support G729, this would save alot of bandwidth.
(If anyone managed to tweak it)

3) US/Canada might be near accurate but countries like singapore dont seem to be.

Thanks.

i've only started using sangoma cpa as well but might be able to answer a couple of these questions.
1) The replys i've gotten from sangoma have indicated that it can not authentic with authenication based sip providers.
Some voip providers if you contact them can turn on ip based authentication. I tried this with mine but still had issues.
The way i got around this is having two asterisk/vicidial machines and using one as a gateway. so a call would go dialer -> cpa -> gateway -> voip provider.
the gateway and cpa are virtual machines so im not sure how this will affect performance.
2) from what i've read in the manuals and read on the site it seems to only to work on ulaw and alaw codecs, i havent seen any mention of other codec support.
3)not to sure about this. I'm in australia i've only done a few calls using the trial version but it has detected a couple answer machines so far. It's post call analyse does seem to be taking a while but and pre call analyse has not returned anything yet.

make sure to set your country in the call analyzer properties file. It defaults to Canada. Also some features in the CPA only work for specific countries. Others are either lacking the proper country model, or the phone network does not give the needed info.

Hi sinsterdeath,

Thanks for your reply.

Just wondering how to get the 2nd vicidial box to work as a gateway,
which would have an ip based SIP authentication.
Did you change/configure a SIP extension to receive incoming requests? if yes, how ?
