Dual Consent Call Recording

Postby slider » Fri Apr 13, 2012 5:28 pm

Can anyone recommend a way to do the following:

Record all calls except a list of states. The list of states can be modified at anytime.

Why?

I would like to record all calls except where states require that we have consent from both parties.

Why not disclaim this on the phone or by using a prompt?

We wish not to include this in our scripting and would simply like NOT to record in certain states.

Let me know what you find and thank you in advance.

That is not currently a feature. I'm sure it could be added though.

Record all calls then run a script in cron that deletes completed calls from states you don't want recordings?

I too looked for that feature a while
but right now I'm recording everything and using a script to copy SALE-recordings to a network drive (with NFS)
and using the line in crontab to remove recordings older then 7 days.

If anyone is interested in that script I can post it to the issue tracker

oh sure, its in php and does not update the location-column (yet).
I'm gonna do some cleaning and upload it when I got time, maybe rewrite to perl instead too.

Ok cool. If you want to put that script up I'll post back my modifications.

From a legal perspective, I think this stands on shaky grounds and it would be nicer to NOT record the call to start with. Just my two cents.

yeah, I would like to see that feature,
though if we keep looking from a legal perspective, every call will have to be recorded and depending on the disposition it will be saved or deleted, so you wont get away from actually recording

Edit: just remembered that Matt wrote a script to archive SALE-recordings: AST_CRON_GSM_SALE_recordings.pl (in /usr/share/astguiclient)
I haven't tried it and didn't know it existed when I started to write my own script.
