Postby kamirie » Thu Apr 26, 2012 2:51 am

Scratch Install
VERSION: 2.2.1-237
BUILD: 100510-2015
Debian 5.6
Asterisk version : 1.4.21.2
Install Guide : http://hotfile.com/dl/139441882/70b7cf9 ... 1.pdf.html

Good Day,
I just want to ask how to install Bristuff on debian , following and reading this posts

viewtopic.php?p=82408

viewtopic.php?t=15325

I also intend to enable "ringing" when agents receive ques when auto-dialing in ViciDial so they wont get startled when someone suddenly talks at the other line while in a moment of silence.

and can i also ask is this ring will also be available when doing Manual calling , like manual dialing while logged in and with Dial Next Number/Preview calling method.
I still didn't have the chance to try the "R" option but will try later when i come in to office , Just want some suggestions and pointers.

Thanks

I think the GoAutoDial install has Bristuff installed. I'm not sure if Vicibox has it installed or not.

But I do know that there are instructions on the web for installing Bristuff.

Why are you NOT using Vicibox.com's .iso? (or GoAutoDial.com's .iso?)

Umm , as of the moment i'm kinda hesitant to try something because the server is operational and i don't want to mess up a working server at the moment ^^.
haven't tried installing from ISO yet , but i think i can try to. I was used to installing it using that guide ^^ and it's depreciated method now but that's what i'm used to ^^. Will download the ISO's later to try ^^.

if you are "unsure" about the iso installation ... try it on a virtual machine. vmware is excellent for "practice" in this regard. you can only have ONE reliable phone call on the virtual machine, but that's all you need to verify your installation was successful.

Thanks william for the support , I'm thinking that because it's from an ISO , everything needed will already be available when i install , not like what I'm doing manually installing everything. If that will be the case , I'm pretty sure i can do it ^^

If you've managed a scratch install ... the only danger is you know too much. Keep it simple, remember that it was written by Kumba to be used by those with NO knowledge of Vicidial/Asterisk. So don't think too much and you should have no problems.

Remember: NO manual changes to any configuration files. If you can't figure out how to do it inside Vicidial ... ask. The only exception to that is changing the IP address (which is handled in yast) and possibly externip=xx.xx.xx.xx in sip.conf (which is only necessary if you are on a private network).
