Recordings not Transfered to Archive Server

Postby AGA » Thu May 17, 2012 4:58 pm

Hello to any people of goodwill who would be kind enough to give me some clues.
My config is :
- DBerver - bi processor Xeon Dell T610, 2*Intel® Xeon® E5607 Processor 32 G Ram, HD 300G 15 KRPM
- Weberver, Dell PE110, Xeon, 8 G Ram
- 4 dialers, Dell PE110, Intel Xeon E1220 ((3.1GHz, 4C/4T, 8M Cache, 80W, Turbo), 8GB RAM ,
- 1 Storage server, Dell PE110, Intel Xeon E1220 , 4To HD 8GB, all calls being recorded and MP3 encoded
- 3 Freepbx servers with TE420B digium cards with Echo cancellation
- 12 E1
- 1 NTP server
I have IAX trunks linking the dialers and the FreePBX servers
I Installed : VERSION: 2.4-350a BUILD: 111201-0939 from VICIBOX ISO | Asterisk 1.4 | | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation
I have 110 seats (200 agents) on this installation, we make around 120 000 calls per day, all calls are recorded, MP3 encoded and transfered to a storage server.
This installation have been running for 6 months like a charm !! Everything was running perfect !!! BUT (because there is one ! :-) ) From 2 days ago, in the middle of the day, no recording was transfered from any dialer to the storage server. That happened on all the dialers at the same time.
First thing i checked is space on storage server -> I still have 2 To free -> It is not a problem of space
I checked the FTP service on the storage server -> I could upload any file in the storage server using FTP client -> Not a problem on the FTP server
I checked /var/spool/asterisk/monitorDONE/FTP on the dialers and found a lot of files ready to be transfered ie : the "mix" to MP3 is OK
When i tried to launch manually the transfer by typing /usr/share/astguiclient/AST_CRON_audio_3_ftp.pl --MP3
in the console, i got the following error (same on all dialers) : Can't use an undefined value as a symbol reference at /usr/lib/perl5/5.12.1/Net/FTP/dataconn.pm line 54.
I guess i have something in my DB but i do not know where. I checked the recording_log table and nothing seems to be wrong.
Would somebody have any clue ?

Many thanks in advance to anybody willing to help !

To Matt -> You made a really great job with Vicidial ! i am one of your biggest fan !! 8)

Hi!
This was an interesting issue!
And found that this has been asked in this forum before (but caused by an other script): viewtopic.php?p=77911

I believe this error was fixed in more recent svn/trunk code.

and your build is 111201-0939 so it has probably nothing to do with the error mflorell was talking about.
that issue was delete-permission in the ftp-server:

k i figured it out. The reason for the error is cause in the program filezilla i did not give the option the delete the files. So when the script ran and it was not able to delete the file, it would give me this error, once i checked the option and ran the script work just fine. Just in case the setting is under edit>user>shared folders. Hope this helps.

here is a discussion about that error http://community.activestate.com/forum- ... pm-line-55
and it seams this issue is caused by many reasons and no reason at all :P
It seems that this error hits every 6 months or so. I have no idea why it triggers.
I restart my application and it works for many months and then this error pops up.

So because it happen on the 3 servers at the same time I guess it has to do with the ftp-server, maybe the script want to overwrite a file but can't?
I don't think its the database, because the script just checks for audio-files and ftp them and updates the database

Run the script again with --debugX and post all the output if you were not able to find the issue.
Good luck!

Make sure you do not have any characters in your ftp password that would need to be escaped in perl... I had this issue.. As a test make the password something simple like 1234 if it works your password has a character that is telling perl to do something specail with that line... I ran into this when I originally setup my ftp server for my recordings.
