Hi,
2.20 scratch install on Ubuntu, Asterisk 1.4.25
Issue im having is id like to only have a custom greeting played every 30 seconds while on hold, then have them press 0 or 1 to drop to voicemail. Right now its playing the default greeting and mine, but allowing me to only break out on the default greeting, DTMF is working and Asterisk sees the tones with no issues.
Any ideals on what is going on? Is there no way to play a custom greeting only and always let the person drop to voicemail each and every time?
Thanks

i have no idea what you are asking.
it sounds like you are sending calls to voicemail, it plays the message then your message and you want them to press 0 or 1 during the message to drop to voicemail when they are already in it?
Is this a voicemail question or a vicidial question?
If it's a voicemail question, the Comedian voicemail system is an asterisk module and has plenty of online documentation (vicidial sends calls to it, vicidial also has some configuration options for it in certain limited places, but vicidial does not interact with the voicemail much).
Are you asking if you can just skip the default message and play only yours and then start recording?

Sorry if my post was unclear. While a caller is in queue, we have the hold time option set for PRESS_VMAIL so we can have them drop to a voicemail instead of sitting on hold. We are trying to figure out if we can have a custom greeting played every x seconds while they are on hold / in queue then have them press a digit to drop to voicemail. According to the docs it's suppose to work this way but the message is only being played a single time while holding AND it's not the custom one, I can modify the perl to make it be the correct sounds file but the bigger issue we need this played every x seconds and then they can drop to vmail at anytime.
Ive looked some more at the code and I just don't see how this is possible, but hopefully im missing something

You'd need to post the settings you have, instead of a verbal description/summary. Since it's a technical question ... a technical scenario is necessary to be of any help.
Also, you should post a link to your installation instructions in case there are any other users out there who have this same install ... and there's a known flaw!
