I have a DELL Poweredge 1850/ Xeon 3.4/4gig ram with 2 NIC: this server is running Goautodial CE 2.1 with vicidial VOIP account: Internet speed 5/1 : TP Link Fast Ethernet Switch 24 port : Connected to 18 PC's.

Now the problems is that I don't know how to make the network work....I know its a pain in the .... to help a newbie, but I'm a start-up call center and low in budget to hire a IT at the moment. I have no idea how to setup the configurations to make the network run. please help!!!
So far I have the internet modem connected to ETH0 of the server, then ETH1 to switch, then the workstations to switch. I can't access the default 192.168.1.2.

LOL: First things first, does your Dell have two Network cards and do you have two IPs available from your ISP?

It makes a fairly big difference if you will have both a private network IP and an internet IP on the server. If you'll only have one the install will be different.

also: if you are not "up" yet: Why Goautodial instead of Vicibox? (Vicibox is compatible with the new features Matt added YESTERDAY and will even install the system with those features if you install or upgrade today .. GoAutoDial is generally 1-12 months behind on features, but quite stable and has a prettier agent interface ...)

have u tried pinging to the internet?

Code: Select all
ping google.com

or tried pinging your local router?

Code: Select all
ping 192.168.1.1

or maybe there had been some ip address conflict, 192.168.1.2 had been already used. well this is all network administrators work.

totally agreed with william here. Vicibox has a lot of cool stuffs.
