unable to request channel sip

Postby Elanar » Wed Sep 12, 2012 11:40 am

Hi.

I´m from germany, so please excuse my bad english, i try my best!

For two days I have a problem with my vicidial. I installed it by myself und all worked right since 5th august.

I don´t know what I did wrong but now i have the following problem:

If I start my Softphone (X-Lite 3.0) absolutely nothing happens on the CLI. But the phone must register, because i can place calls over x-lite (and all works fine). Even over the GUI i can place calls when i´m logged in. But there is the problem and i think it´s a problem with the conferences.

If I want to log in, my CLI says
Code: Select all
channel.c:3592 __ast_request_and_dial: Unable to request channel SIP/1020

And if I try to dial with vicidial, i get no other error.

But the phone with 1020 can manual place calls while this message. The question is now, what is wrong? And why this error appears now after so long weeks? Please help me!

1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

3) Registering and making calls are non-related processes. Your soft phone will ordinarily tell you if you are registered. Your asterisk command to check registrations on the dialer is:

Code: Select all
sip show peers

or from the command line instead of inside asterisk's CLI:

Code: Select all
asterisk -rx "sip show peers"

If your phone account has an IP address, you have registered. If it says unavailable, it does not.

The other possibilities include: the phone is unqualified (as in qualify=yes and a round trip packet takes more than 1 second, which "unqualifies" the phone and will cause it to show as "unreachable" and asterisk will refuse to dial it even if it is registered).
