1) list is empty
2) list is too large to download
Solution: Check again on a list with only a few leads in it.

I am aware that this post is old but there has to be a way to download large lists. I have tried setting high values for php.ini parameters. I also checked the list_download.php file and it has no limits defined anywhere. What am I missing?

This is a purely apache/php issue. Settings in php.ini (the apache version, not the cli version) need to be modified. I believe there was a very good post/updated post about this last week, but even if you can't find it ... this is a standard php issue and has been solved many times using google and large uploads in php ...
Let me know if you can't find it and I'll pick on you and then help out

You're right. It was a PHP/Apache issue. Thanks for all the help!

I dunno, you're at a crucial point. 43 posts is very close to 50. A lot of techs will pull out all their hair and self-defenestrate at this point to avoid any further Vicidial insanity ... we'll see ...

the worst is when you google to find out and all the forums with the answer tell you to find it somewhere else! I cant complain though this site usually has some good post backs. Increasing the values didn't work , im sure ill find the answer though just maybe not while in production.

start by looking at the apache logs /var/log/apache2/error_log and access_log too
if there is no clues there then post a new thread explaining the problem and write that you have tested
