removing asterisk

Hello,

New to vicidial, only 1 month old with it. We are having problems with our asterisk box and our long distance carrier. So the owner wants to remove the asterisk box and uses the our long distance carrier system.

Has anyone made Telovations as a long distance carrier work with vicidial with out the asterisk box. And what settings did you have to change.

Thanks Gerry

Ya lost me Gerry.

I hope you are saying that you have an asterisk box between your Vicidial and Telovations. In which case, you must move your configuration for Telovations from your asterisk server into a carrier (admin->carriers) in Vicidial.

But to be clear: Vicidial runs on asterisk. There is an asterisk server IN Vicidial and there is no way to even consider running without it. (Works just as well as driving my Limo with no engine ...)

That all being said: You should seriously consider a different VOIP Provider unless you are paying 1 cent per minute or less for your VOIP. If you are over 2 cents ... start looking now! (There are quite a few of them.) Besides which you should ALWAYS have at least THREE carriers for redundancy purposes. Gives an easy way to test carrier quality in addition to the ability to survive an outage.

Happy Hunting :)
