Callcentric Setup

Postby savagenoob » Sat Mar 02, 2013 1:40 am

Ok, I just finished the setup of my vicidial server, i modified my sip.conf file and I modified the line : register => myuser:mypass@callcentriccom/myuser
but this is still not working. Does anyone know how to setup a callcentric account with this server? Any example setups you can offer? I am a complete noob.

Hello Nuuub! Welcome To The Party! 8-)

GnuB Suggestions:

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600
______________

Now more to the point:

1) Do not ever modify your sip.conf file. Go back and "undo" any changes you made (and/or copy the original back over top of your modified one).

2) All carrier setup is done in Admin->Carriers.

3) This is a Technical Support forum. As such, "Technical" is a keyword. Your statement "this is still not working" is not ... as helpful as it could be. So the question begs to be asked: Did the entry you created result in a registration?

Code: Select all
asterisk -rx "sip show registry"

4) The BEST Advice I can give any GnuB is to download the Vicidial Manager's Manual and begin at page one. Do not skip ANY pages/sections/tutorials. Begin at page one and work your way to the back. Stop only when all the functions you want are already working, but if you want more, continue where you left off do NOT skip anything. If you hit a bump in the road, tell us where you are in the manual (page/line) and what the problem is. And provide some technical details of the problem, of course :)

5) Happy Hunting! 8-)

OK, downloaded the manual as you suggested, and in the meantime have become more versed on this subject, but still cannot register my carrier correctly. Here are my current settings:

REGISTRATION STRING: 177721XXXXX:password@callcentric com/177721XXXXX

ACCOUNT ENTRY:
[callcentric]
context=from-pstn
fromdomain=callcentric com
fromuser=177721XXXXX
host=callcentric com
insecure=port,invite
secret=password
type=peer
username=177721XXXXX
canreinvite=no
videosupport=no
disallow=all
allow=ulaw

PROTOTOCOL: SIP

GLOBALS STRING: SIPTRUNK = SIP/callcentric

DIAL PLAN ENTRY:
exten => _91NXXNXXXXXX,1,AGI(agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log)
exten=>_91NXXNXXXXXX,2,Dial(newsip:callcentric@192.168.0.106:5060/${EXTEN:2},,tTor)
exten => _91NXXNXXXXXX,3,Hangup

ACTIVE = Y

Still no registration.

Any advice?

Advice: Start at the beginning of the Managers Manual. Do not skip anything. Especially the stuff you "know you don't need". Seriously. Skip nothing. When you hit your first "bump" in the road, tell us the Manual Version, Page, and Line upon which you "bumped" along with the error you see on your screen (not "it doesn't work", but the actual error, copy and paste from the screen ...). If you see an error in the CLI, give us several lines starting at the error and going ... backwards! ... to get the possible cause of the error. Do not give us 3000 lines of unrelated code from other calls. limit the system to just this test call so the cli output is not cluttered.

If you do this, we can help you through pretty much anything. :)

If you got "extension not found" in the cli ... it would be most helpful to show ... the extension that was not found (ie: the cli output showing that error resulted from an extension being dialed, that would be very handy information!).
