VERSION: 2.4-309a
BUILD: 110430-1642

I would like to allow some users to Search for leads with the following restrictions:

1) User can view lead record but cannot modify the data.
2) Search results will be limited show leads only from list IDs within the campaigns they have access to.

The only way I can see to allow the Search For A Lead is if I set Modify Leads to 1, but then they can search ALL leads and can also modify. I search the forum and manual but did not find a solution.

Please advise.

1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

3) Search for a lead as a logged in user in the agent interface, or as an administrator in the Admin interface?

for this sort of restriction, you may want to upgrade to the latest version of Vicidial. it has many more options for restricting administrators.

you could install vicibox 4.0.3 in a virtual machine and test it to see if this version meets your requirements (or goautodial 3.0 if you feel the need to keep the pretty agent interface ...).

Here's the upgrade instructions: http://goautodial.org/projects/goautodialce/wiki/UpgradeCE21to30. This will upgrade your system to GOautodial v3.0 with Vicidial 2.7RC1.

I am now up to VERSION: 2.8-425a BUILD: 140206-1357, but I still don't see any way to specify where a user can search for leads in the admin interface or give them read only access.

I want to set up users that can search only within specific lists and can only view the lead records but not modify them.

Access to lead modification in the admin interface currently does not have a read-only option, but admin access can be restricted to lists within specific campaigns by using the User Group settings for the user.

If you want read-only access you can have then use the agent interface and the Lead Search options, which can also be restricted only to the lists within the campaign that the agent is logged in to.
