New install..New user...confusion

Hello
I have installed vicibox and after a couple of attempts have it running. Or so I think. I have set up a test user, test campaign, and a SIP softphone (Twinkle) that is registering on the server. Once I register the phone and verify in asterisk CLI I I go to agent login and enter the phone and phone password just like it requests. Then I come to the campaign login and that is where the failure happens. I put in the user and the user password and select the test campaign. Then I get the response of: Login Error. Sorry, your phone login and password are not active in this system, please try again.
I have followed the tutorial steps in the manager's manual but they seem to be out of date. I have also downloaded a PDF that I found called vicidial for dummies. It showed me to allow logins with no hopper load. I did that and have the same response.
I am running Version 2.8-377c Build 130802-1134 on the server (HP-DL380) and CentOS 6.4, KDE, Firefox, and Twinkle on the connecting workstation (HP-18-3004LA).
I am sure that I am just not setting something right in either the user or the campaign. Those stupid first timer mistakes you know. If any of you could put a bit of a bug in my ear as to what I may be overlooking or point me to more current documentation it would certainly be appreciated.
Thanks
Jim

enter the phone and phone password just like it requests.
where did you acquire the "phone" and "phone password" during this step? which fields from the "Admin->Phone" entry for this phone?
also: please try to post your installer version ... among other things.

Hi Bill thanks for the reply.
First I logged into the agent login where it requests phone login and phone pass with the phone login and phone pass from my test user in admin. Then it progresses to the campaign login screen and I enter the user number and password directly under the user number. That's when it kicks out with the login error. I just for the sake of trying also have tried the phone login and pass there also. I have been reading and poking around for the last few hours trying to figure out what I don't have turned on and like I said I am sure it is something that is going to be one of those DUHHHH moments when I find it.
Installer version...??? You mean the SUSE 12.3 that it comes packed with ViciBox?

did you miss this?

Um ... nope. I mean the full name of the Vicibox .iso you used. Vicibox has had many revisions in it's lifetime. Please don't say "Latest" or I'll be forced to revoke your caffeine license.

ViciBox5 i686 5.0.2
I acquired them by creating them when I set up my test user.
User Number: TU101
Password: 1234
Last Login: 2013-08-18:53:16 - 0 - 11.11.0.1
Full Name: No Body
User Level: 1
User Group: Test Users
Phone Login: TU101
Phone Pass: connect
Active: Y
Campaign is set for test campaign
Hope I am getting you what you need to help. Maybe I should drop the caffeine and head for the beer.
I forgot to mention.. The phone does register instantly...Sun 20:35:05 TU101, registration succeeded (expires = 3600 seconds)

OK, so of those, which two did you fill in for the "phone and phone pass"? (which were explicitly stated as "wrong" by your error message)

and have you tried this again since then to be sure? and what was the message this time? (since the phone and phone pass now appear correct, I'd expect a different message ...)
unless your Browser is cacheing something. (very rare)

Definitely kicking out on TU101 and connect. Where do I look to verify those settings?

Not to be rude, but the way your answers sound, it mimics some of my clients who did not actually go back and try again. mostly because of the tone of "definitely kicking out" which is not the same as "I just tried it again, and the error message I got this time was 'X'!". I've also had many technicians who were Sure that was the phone/pass they used ... yet when they go back and try again ... it works.
So humor me, if you will, and go back and clear your cache and enter those while verifying you are on the phone login page specifically.
and then report the error reading from THIS occurrence.
Unless your mysql server has a broken table ...

Moved to support board. Not a general discussion.

I just cleared cache and history.
Phone login : TU101 Pass: connect
Next screen: Campaign Login
User TU101 Pass 1234
Campaign: TestCamp
Same login error on Phone Login and Phone pass.
Sorry if I seem dumb... I have been puzzling at this all afternoon and must admit I am getting tired.

not a question of intelligence or dumbness. just technical details.
just so you know, with the single exception of one client whose phones table was crashed, every other client who has made this claim has said "oops" when we actually looked at their system and tried the credentials from the correct location.
and not to make fun of you, ok ... yes i am, but there is no "same error" on any screen. cut and paste the error or retype it verbatim. that's another one we've had ... sales reps in a hurry who don't read the message because they've seen it before. then when WE read the message it's not actually the same one.
in all those cases, the boss is usually not happy to pay our invoice because someone didn't bother actually checking. especially after we warned (like this) that this would be the outcome. LOL
so how Sure are you?

Dead certain.... Exact same error: Login Error. Sorry, your phone login and password are not active in this system, please try again.
Maybe if I try removing the user and setting up another.

as the error states, it's not related to the user. it's the phone.
as such, removing and adding a user is unlikely to make a difference.

Wonder if something isn't right in the installer build? I would hate to have to do a scratch install but there is always that option. I could build it on CentOs instead of SUSE.

it'll turn out to be something much simpler OR a crashed table. sorta like rebuilding your engine because your ashtrays are full ... when you're done, your ashtrays will still be full. and if your engine didn't need a rebuild, you may have caused more damage than you fixed. LOL

LOL... True that. I am looking in the DB now and watching as I make changes things seem to updating correctly. I am pretty sure it is just that I am not setting something up between the relationship of the phone, user, and campaign correctly. I'm going to give it a rest tonight and work on it some more tomorrow. Thanks for your assistance this evening. Hope you check back in on my progress.

try adding "&DB=1" or "?DB=1" to your URL (whichever seems to work best or is appropriate, if you know what you're doing) while logging in.

This is for Bill... I finally got back to being able to test my server today. Followed some of the youtube videos and sure enough it was just a campaign config setting that was tripping me up. Phone registers, user logs in, agent screen opens and vici calls phone. Now I am just trying to solve a connection issue with the carrier and I think all will be running smoothly.
Thanks for your help and I felt I needed to give you an update.
