error in perl modules

Postby devafree » Wed Feb 14, 2007 7:38 am

I am doing the install asper the scratch install. When I install perl modules from the cpan prompt, I need to use force to install Bundle::CPAN and Spreadsheet::ParseExcel. The DBD (that the scratch install says to use force) is installing OK without force also.

The vicidial is running so far so good. :) Can I expect any trouble on this account?

Thanx

What is the error that those modules are reporting?

What Linux distro are you using?

the screen ran pretty fast. Now when i try to repeat it is says all the Bundle::CPAn is upto to date , ditto for the spreadsheet::parseexcel.

It says failed tests won't install without force.

I am used slack 10.2 only. I had not encoiutered this before on previous installs so I thought to ask. But now I am not able to retrieve the exact output of the error.

thnx

With most perl modules if it only fails a small number of the tests, or if the tests depend on connection to some kind of test socket, it is usually OK to force an install. If they show as up to date, then they are probably OK.
