Support,
When I check htop I saw this "usr/bin/asterisk -vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvgcT" consuming more that 50 % of CPU? Is this normal? My hardware have 8gb memory and 8 core CPU.
Load average: 1.05 0.64 0.62 M. I have 29 agents logged in.
Kindly explain.
Thank you.

Yes, that is normal for 29 agents.. what codec are you using?
using g729 will increase your CPU usage, try using ulaw.

I am using ulaw. Now we have 32 agents.
System Load Average: 1.60 1.38 1.03 M
On my htop I am seeing alot of this "usr/bin/asterisk -vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvgcT" and on top it is consuming 74.4%
What process is that?
Thank you.

ACtually that is still normal if you are dialing higher than Ratio 3. May we know if what hardisk type/speed you have?

We are Inbound / Blended. That is why I was thinking maybe something is wrong. Seagate sata, I think its 5400rpm.
By the way this is newly installed vicibox 5.02, my old one doesn't reached this high cpu usage.

The thing to look out for here is your load average. You have 8 cores. That translates to 8.0 load average max or 800%. You are operating way below your load average so it really doesn't matter if Asterisk is consuming 75% or 300% of your CPU. This means your system still has room for expansion.

You may want to update your signature for the new version information. And to reinforce Gardo (and the others): 50% system usage on an 8 core system is 400% or 4.0. If you have 8 cores and cruise under 4.0 server load, you're doing fine.
