Downgrade to a previous version?

Postby pifiu » Sat Sep 21, 2013 4:20 pm

How does one downgrade versions? We recently upgraded to VERSION: 2.8-379c BUILD: 130903-1920 and the inbound script we were using stopped working. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. We wanted to downgrade versions.

There is no downgrade method per se. But if you have a backup of your database you could restore it and download the version you want and reinstall. Then the DB and vicidial code would both be at the prior level. Otherwise, there is no "undo" for the sql upgrade so a downgrade of the code would make the sql schema "not match". May work fine, may crash immediately. Given the odds, though, you missed something during your upgrade.

Did you tell the system to "copy sample conf files"? Often there are revisions in these that must be integrated if you don't just use the sample ones.
