I'm trying to get another vicidial server running, but I'm stumped after just beginning the installation
I popped the disk in, 3 options came up, I went with the install option the screen with the green frog, then saw this on the next screen!

Image

Also, just after selecting the install option with the frog, it said
"loading initrd... error cannot find a suitable memory target"

I'm hoping someone can help
Oh, and the disk I'm using is the 32bit preloaded vicibox

Thanks again everyone

UPDATE: I moved to other hardware I case was disk, the install is working fine now, but was unsure why it wouldn't install on old hardware... It was an Athlon 600mhz, 128MB SDRAM.... Yes, yes... I know, but was only for a single user who needed to go through a list of 350 numbers on click to dial or manual dial.... So would have been fine for that... I think?

Hello Victor!

I got a list of things you can try... I know you hate it but if I would spell out every way to try to fix this issue for a beginner to easy follow then it would take a very long time to write
and there would probably be some version/distribution differences that I would forget to write down.
And this is more of a question for the OpenSuSE forum, but I'll try to help you.

The important message the system gives you is: "kernel panic not syncing vfs unable to mount root fs on unknown-block 0 0"
a google search on that results in a lot of results,
You wrote that this happen when you boot the CD, before the installation starts

* usually this is caused by a bad burn of the CD or maybe a bad ISO file, but you wrote that it installs fine on other hardware so I guess the CD is ok. http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get- ... stall.html
* maybe bad ram, run memtest86 "Memory Test" (I think its a boot option on the vicibox install CD)
* might be slow hardware, but I do not think so in this case though http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=262786
