Modify lead list after loading

After loading a list and dialing on it we ran into multiple businesses listed as the same number. I had not screened for duplicates when loading. Eventually we just deleted the list and reloaded, but then we had all the leads we had previously contacted being called again.

What is the preferred way of doing this? I am certain there is a better method than what I just described (other than doing it right the first time, obviously)

Vicidial does not have a duplicate deletion or combining routine. sounds like a good feature request though ... you could sponsor it ... (which would give you the right to decide how it works!)

An alternative would be to build a filter that checks the carrier log for dialed numbers and refuses to dial the same number two times in the same day. That way when you do this it will be at least the next day when you call them again.

Vicidial does have a deduplicate routine, it's a perl script VICIDIAL_DEDUPE_leads.pl and it hasn't been touched in 5 years, but we use it every few months when a client is in a similar situation. It's not very intuitive, and has to be run on the CLI, but it does work.
