Could you post your error?
What Linux Distro are you using?
What version of Perl?

It is generally better forum etiquette to simply add another post to a thread instead of editing an existing one if you are changing it significantly.
As for your problem, it looks like that module has changed recently and is not set up properly to check for it's own new required modules.
Try this in cpan:
- install Unicode::Map
- install Jcode
- install Spreadsheet::WriteExcel
- install OLE::Storage_Lite
- install Spreadsheet::ParseExcel

I am using CENTOS 4.3 and PERL v5.
I already installed the CPAN modules with these CENTOS distro and PERL version, and everything was OK with VICIDIAL.
What could be the requeriments for the correct installation of CPAN modules? I think that's the problem
thanks

Can you post the output of "perl -v"?
I don't know of anyone that isn't using perl 5 right now, but perl 5.6.1 is very different from 5.8.8, and CentOS 4.3 is quite old now, including the old Linux kernel that it uses.

Hi,
Please try the centos 4.4. I was using it and was working fine.

The output is:
- Code: Select all
[root@localhost ~]# perl -v
This is perl, v5.8.5 built for i386-linux-thread-multi

this system using `man perl' or `perldoc perl'. If you have access to the
Internet, point your browser at http://www.perl.com/, the Perl Home Page.
The wear is that I installed successfully CPAN with these settings before, the only diference now is that I am installing in one server ASTERISK/VICIDIAL and DATABASE/WEB in another, with minimal installation.
For that reason I think that I am missing some requeriments for CPAN modules. For instance, if I don't install gcc libraries I can't install another CPAN modules.
PD.
When I installed all in one server, VICIDIAL worked very good (autodialing, consultative transfer, etc) my only problem was load
new installation

Hi,
I made a very new installation. I formatted the hard disk and the packages that I installed was:
gnome
all administration tools
all server tools
all development tools
And Now I installed CPAN modules without problems.
I really want to make a minimal installation. What could be the requeriments for CPAN modules?
Is always necessary to install the mysql client/server before the CPAN modules?

you need the dev tools for most of these CPAN modules.
As for MySQL libs, you do need to install the MySQL client on every vicidial server before installing the DBD::mysql module.
New issue with Bundle::CPAN

Hi,
I have a new issue with
cpan>install Bundle::CPAN command.
I am using:
Distro: Centos 4.4
perl v5.8.5
The issue is when the Bundle::CPAN stops installing in the following output:
- Code: Select all
.
.
.
Manifying blib/man3/CPAN::FirstTime.3pm
/usr/bin/make -- OK
Running make test
PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 /usr/bin/perl "-MExtUtils::Command::MM" "-e" "test_harness(0, 'blib/lib', 'blib/arch')" t/*.t
t/00signature.......WARNING: This key is not certified with a trusted signature!
Primary key fingerprint: 50A0 ED26 8AA2 95BD 2CA0 411E EC80 39F0 A317 C15D
t/00signature.......ok
t/01loadme..........ok
t/02nox.............ok
t/03pkgs............ok 1/11
And there aren't any more outputs
PD.
I made the same installation, with the same machine, linux distro, etc. And everything was OK, but now I don't know what is going on

If you're using CentOS, then I would suggest installing the perl packages from RPMs.
All of the needed packages are available from the Dag Wieers repository (
http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/). You can just add the repository and install the packages with yum.
I've installed VICIDIAL a few times on top of CentOS 5 using only rpms. (I have a perl-Asterisk rpm compiled if anyone interested.)

May be good solution, I haven't tried it yet.
But, I think it's better to install perl modules like the scratch_install document.
And the issue is: I could install perl modules without problem with centos 4.4 and perl v5.8.5, but now the installation stops in:
- Code: Select all
cpan>install Bundle::CPAN
.
.
.
Manifying blib/man3/CPAN::FirstTime.3pm
/usr/bin/make -- OK
Running make test
PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 /usr/bin/perl "-MExtUtils::Command::MM" "-e" "test_harness(0, 'blib/lib', 'blib/arch')" t/*.t

t/01loadme..........ok
t/02nox.............ok
t/03pkgs............ok 1/11
Why is it happening now? Even in the same machine

For the packages that are installed:
- Code: Select all
Up to date
And then the procces is stopped in the same output:
- Code: Select all
Manifying blib/man3/CPAN::FirstTime.3pm
/usr/bin/make -- OK
Running make test
PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 /usr/bin/perl "-MExtUtils::Command::MM" "-e" "test_harness(0, 'blib/lib', 'blib/arch')" t/*.t

How about manually downloading and compiling the module?
