LONG WAIT TIMES WHEN I TRY TO DIAL saskatchewan

Can someone please let me know what could be going on.

When I dial the US calls go thur perfectly. But when I dial Saskatchewan it shows that it works for a couple hours and then no calls are connecting. It shows the regular calls being dialled but then all calls just stop which is very weird. I don't seem to understand what could be going. Wait times are 4-5 minutes long and during different hours it is very fast under 1 minute. Is it a setting or sip provider?

1) sip provider

2) if you don't have two sip providers, you have definitely found a problem. cuz if you had two (even if one of them was not reasonably priced), you could test the speed on one or two calls and definitively answer your own question without asking people like me who are merely assuming based on our "prior experience" instead of actual data from your server (proven to be reliable proportionate to the amount of data provided). LOL

Happy Hunting! 8-)

Hello Winning,

Please look at your carrier reports.

Reports -> Admin Utilities -> Carrier Log Report.

This report only reports details on errors so a large number of SIP CODE 0 is good.

Please see an example report below.

--- DIAL STATUS BREAKDOWN FOR 2014-01-15, 00:00:00 TO 23:59:59 - server(s) a.b.c.d
+--------------+-------------+---------+
| HANGUP CAUSE | DIAL STATUS | COUNT |
+--------------+-------------+---------+
| 0 | CANCEL | 433 |
| 1 | CONGESTION | 24 |
| 16 | ANSWER | 1060 |
| 17 | BUSY | 39 |
| 19 | CONGESTION | 66 |
| 21 | CONGESTION | 83 |
| 27 | CONGESTION | 2 |
| 29 | CONGESTION | 5 |
| 34 | CONGESTION | 71 |
| 38 | CONGESTION | 4 |
+--------------+-------------+---------+
| TOTAL | 1787 |
+--------------+-------------+---------+

--- SIP ERROR REASON BREAKDOWN FOR 2014-01-15, 00:00:00 TO 23:59:59 - server(s) a.b.c.d
+----------+--------------------------------+---------+
| SIP CODE | SIP HANGUP REASON | COUNT |
+----------+--------------------------------+---------+
| 0 | | 1507 |
| 403 | Forbidden | 83 |
| 404 | Not Found | 24 |
| 480 | Temporarily Unavailable | 59 |
| 486 | Busy Here | 37 |
| 500 | Server Internal Error | 4 |
| 501 | Not Implemented | 5 |
| 502 | Bad Gateway | 2 |
| 503 | Service Unavailable | 66 |
+----------+--------------------------------+---------+
| TOTAL | 1787 |
+-------------------------------------------+---------+

What you are looking for is a spike in sip errors during your long wait times. When you find this spike, scroll down even further and actaully look at the numbers dialed and the reason for the calls not terminating correctly.

Regards,

Rudolf

Hi Everyone,

For the previous advice list above. I checked the numbers of cancels on for my carrier and it was really high. I bought new sample and the problem seem to be resolved. But once 4:30pm came around the dial times were 3+ wait times. This has occurred the last two weeks exact same times. Could this be a problem with the carrier or is there a problem with a vicidial setting?

HI Winning,

What is your dial time out on the campaign? a Cancel is sent from YOUR server.

Rudolf

Hi,

I have current wait times set to 30 seconds. Is there a specific dialling setting I should be using?

HI Winning,

You say you bought a new sample of data? Was this data uploaded in a separate list or does it have a vendor lead code that is different from the first set of data? IS the data Cell or Landline? In which part of the world is this? How does voice mail work in your area/country? The default for my country is 30 or 25 seconds, so I set all my campaings to time out a call after 23.

If you pull a Call Report for the day that has bad and good calls you can filter by List and Vendor Lead Code and by Status_Name. (You can now make a pivot table if you know how)

Check the number of No Answer AutoDial statuses for each of your data sources - this should give you an idea of whether the data is "good" or "bad". Or which data is getting answered and which is not. You should then be able to filter by land lines and cell's as well.

Rudolf
