First few seconds of calls not recording

My config:

Quad core AMD processor
16GB RAM
1TB HD

Very very low usage/load (usually only one agent making single line auto dial calls)

Vicidial Version 2.8-404a
Build 130605-0841

Situation:

I set campaign to ratio dial (1 line). Recording delay = 0. Campaign Recording = ALLFORCE. I've tried to call several different #s in the campaign as the agent, and the recording of each call has the first 2-3 second missing. Is there something I am doing wrong, or any setting I should watch out for?

Thanks

You should check that for Agents who works in Campaign in User -> Agent Recording Override -> ALLFORCE

Because This option will override whatever the option is in the campaign for recording

Thanks - I changed it, but it still has the same problem.

I think I see what's happening. When the customer answers the call, it takes about 1-2 seconds before the agent's screen shows it's a "LIVE CALL" (in green letters). Then after it shows "LIVE CALL", it takes another second for the recording name to change.

From what I can see, if there is a way to make the "LIVE CALL" detection more timely as well as syncing the recording so that it starts exactly when the "LIVE CALL" is shown that would help.

Is anyone else experiencing this same problem, and better yet, have a remedy?

Thanks

I did some testing by using a millisecond stopwatch to test three scenarios when using vicidial agent interface (for each of these scenarios I did three samples each):

Scenario 1: Time between me answering my phone (pretending to be a customer) to when I can hear sound coming through the connection
Scenario 2: Time between me answering my phone to when the recording starts (when the recording file name changes on the interface - which also coincides with when the recording starts - i tested this as well)
Scenario 3: Time between me answering my phone to when the green "LIVE CALL" status shows at the top of the agent interface.

My results are:

Scenario 1: 1.775 s, 1.974 s, 1.796 s
Scenario 2: 3.548 s, 3.313 s, 3.288 s
Scenario 3: 1.923 s, 1.923 s, 1.829 s

I then did a separate test making a call directly through Asterisk using my softphone and repeating Scenario 1 in this situation. My results were: 2.17 s, 1.932 s, 1.985 s

So there is a 1.7 - 2 second delay from when the customer picks up his phone to when the call can be heard by the agent (regardless whether using Vicidial or using the softphone to call directly). Then there is an additional 1.5 - 1.75 second delay from when the call can be heard to when the recording actually records.

Lastly I tested a regular phone call being recorded through Vicidial. I called a friend of mine and when he picked up the phone I could clearly hear him say "Hi, apples bananas and oranges are my favorite fruits". I made this same call three times and then listened to the recordings that were generated. All three recordings played as "are my favorite fruits".

I also tested with a backup trunk and the data was much the same.

Itchy, have you found out anymore on this? We have the same issue...all of our recordings start when the agent is about 3-4 words into the script.

Enable the AGI LOG OUTPUT to the FILE in the server settings and see if you can decode some thing from the output

Check to make sure the system you are dialing from is time synced with your database.
