I really need your opinion guyz on how to resolve this choppy lines

were currently using a xeon type base server, 4gb ram.
also we used g729 and gsm codec

our net speed is 2.5mbps with 8-12 agents

How many calls are you doing per agent?? Is it predictive or manual.. I am going to assume you do not have enough bandwidth to support 10 agents on a predictive campaign with a higher dial ratio, Remember you are using bandwidth even on the calls that do not connect to your agent so if you are making 50 calls at a time to keep them busy you need to calculate that bandwidth as well as any other overhead on the connection .

get more bandwidth or use the bandwidth you have LESS. turn off all web access for agents except vicidial. if vicidial is local to the agents, turn off all web access to the agents completely.

you will also need to poll the complainers and see what they have in common. for instance, what if all those complaining are gsm users (or client calls, remember that there are two legs to every call ...) but not g729 users? in that case you could switch everyone to g729.

you did not mention whether your agents were local to the vicidial server. you also did not mention which legs of the call are g729. if your agents are local to the server, they should all be ulaw not g729 (no benefit from g729 on a local subnet).

check your cpu usage during the times of complaint, you may be experiencing a bit of overload as well.
