Support,
I enabled "Allow Voicemail Greeting Chooser", seems not to be working. Every time I dial the extension that I am testing it is playing the default " the person at extension digits... is unavailable please leave your message after the tone..blah blah..." how can I change this?
thank you.

From my experience, you have to:
1. Create a folder in the /asterisk/voicemail/default directory named exactly the same as your phone extension
2. Place a copy of your recording (in the correct wav format) in the new directory and name it unavail.wav
3. Restart asterisk
If you are setting the voicemail options in your campaign and/or inbound group, you need to upload your recording through the audio store and place a copy of the recording in the directory you created above as well.
This is the only way I've gotten it to work. Hope that helps. More senior members, please correct anything I have wrong.

Something else may need to be restarted. Is it possible for you to do a reboot?
When you created the /asterisk/voicemail/default/xxxx folder did you grant necessary permissions?
If the folder has the correct permissions and you reboot your system and still no go then I'm afraid I'm out of suggestions because that's what works for me.

and post your exact steps and button presses to attempt to make your change (along with the URLs). We don't need the domain name or IP of the server, but everything else.
Having never used this function in Vicidial ... we always just use the comedian voicemail menus. If we want to use software to generate or place a greeting, we create it with comedian mail FIRST, then find it and write a script to replace that file with whatever automated file the client needs (TTS, that sort of thing).
