I wonder how database replication works? And how its done.
If it is live replicating the database?

Database replication is a mysql function, not technically related to vicidial at all. It is not "live replicating", it happens at a timed interval according to your database replication settings. But that would be covered in the mysql forums sites.

Note that there can only be ONE database server for vicidial. Replicated servers are useful for reporting (without overloading the primary database) and catastrophic failure recovery but cannot be used for linking to dialers or to increase capacity.
