ok so Installed a new Vicidial server with Vicibox ISO pre-load, ran the install etc, then ran the SVN update.(VERSION: 2.8-440a BUILD: 140521-2101).. so it works when connecting to the localhost MySQL database i can log in to the Vicidial admin page. When i try to change the /etc/astguiclient.conf to point to our production dialer database, i can not login using the credentials for the production database connection. I am unable to login using the credentials that were setup in the standalone database. I also changed the credentialing info in the dbconnect_mysqli.php as this is the 'required' file in the admin.php page. I did notice that there is no pass_key field in system_setting... so im not sure what im missing? thanks for your help

1) You said you performed a fresh install, and then "ran the SVN update". I'm not sure what "ran the SVN update" was meant to imply, but that step is not necessary whatever it was. If you are not sure on this point, post exactly what you did and we can go into that a bit more deeply for you to get an understanding. :)

2) When you add a new dialer to a cluster, you do NOT build it as a standalone and then "just point the DB value to the other DB in astguiclient.conf". You have Two methods for clustering available to you: (1) http://www.poundteam.com/downloads/Vici ... v1%201.pdf or (2) Be sure to use the STANDARD Vicibox .iso image (NOT the pre-load which is specifically described as NOT for Clustering!) and answer the questions during the install and Vicibox (ie: Kumba!!) will handle all of it for you.

Happy Hunting! 8-)

Note: You MUST match the Vicidial Version of the new server to the existing server. That does NOT mean "upgrade", it means MATCH precisely. Vicibox usually handles this for you without effort if you use the Standard .iso

William,

Thank you for your response, i was afraid that the difference in version could be part of the problem. I will go back and start again with the standard install ISO as you prescribed.

NP. That's why we're here. Always best to ask (in addition to diving in and seeing what works). But I recommend the "diving in" be done on a virtual (sandbox) system to avoid damage to the running system. Stops the hair pulling days. 8-)
