USB bootable MP3 not showing on mount

I used Unetbootin to make a bootable vicibox drive from my mp3 player.

Now it's not showing up:

Which I suppose is because it has the vicibox .iso file?

It connects with a squished USB cable, so perhaps that's the problem? It
has to directly connect with the full USB connector?

The BIOS is set to boot from USB first, but it didn't detect it either.
How do I confirm that the mp3 player has the .iso?

thanks,

Thufir

Hello,
Can you share what are your server specs?
also, what is the ISO version?

I don't have server specs available, have only tested on my home pc. The download is:

ViciBox5.i686-5.0.3.iso

I just tried on my home pc to confirm that at boot it would prompt for the install. It did not detect the USB MP3, and now it doesn't seem to detect it under any circumstances.

It's not a big deal, per se, it's just a $10 MP3 player. Perhaps I made an error with Unetbootin which somehow broke the MP3 player?

I haven't tried on another computer yet, to see whether it will at least try to mount the MP3 player with automount, or, even better, try to boot from the MP3 player.

It's not relevant that it uses squished USB? Mini- or Micro- USB, one of those, on the player, and then a regular USB connection on the computer.

I think that the problem is described here quite well:

https://answers.launchpad.net/unetbooti ... ion/219012

However, I seem to have mislaid the dongle at the moment, so cannot test this solution.

What's the solution on Linux? Use GParted?

Also, try with Vicibox 4 and another PC.
