Hot Transfer Campaign

Hello,
I would like to set up a "hot transfer campaign" whereby a message plays to the called party "please wait while you are transferred" and then the call connects to the number (let's call it xferNum) set in "CONF-EXTEN" for the remote agent placing the call. I set this destination number (xferNum) for the remote agent and set the campaign to transfer to 8364 which allowed the played the audio in the audio store, but this required DTMF input for the transfer to take place. A quick workaround was to direct the call to a number in the dialplan, playback a message and then dial the transfer destination. My new issue is that I want this destination to be variable.
Is this already doable through Vicidial and am I making this harder than it needs to be or should I look into passing variable to the asterisk dialplan and continue with my current approach? I have created a custom mysql table where I can read this transfer destination from.
