NEED HELP! TECH?? cannot get XLite and VICIDial to connect

I have a job that uses these two applications. I am allowed to work at home, but I cannot get these 2 to work together. On my laptop XLite registers okay and I can get VICIDial to log on a ring to my xlite. But the voice prompt "you are the only one in the conference room" is never heard, and absolutely nothing is heard when I attempt taking calls. Interestingly, I can manually dial a number on VICIDial and it will connect.

I prefer using my desktop, and I cannot even get XLite to register at all even though all the information is the same. I've double checked my sound/mic settings, I've called my ISP to inquire about ports and any firewall - they say there are no blocks, I've searched the web for answers and see many comments about port issues but am not finding any options on my end to make adjustments (cannot log into home modem settings page - it's a UBEE modem).

Can someone please help me make the connection -- something is amiss. It shouldn't be this hard. The workplace gave me all the login info as they use it in the office... does that need to change, like the domain? Do I need to change something on my computer? I'm not technically challenged, though not any kind of pro either. Hopefully I will be able to follow your instructions.

Thanks!

You most likely need to configure the router at home and forward the needed ports. Pick your router here and follow the instructions:
http://portforward.com/english/applicat ... efault.htm

You'd need to set a static IP on the computer as well:
http://portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm

As for Ubee modems, there are FAQs:

http://www.ubeeinteractive.com/support/ ... forwarding

By the way- in "internet etiquette" posting in capital letters is considered as screaming and being rude & disrespectful, there is really no need to do it.
