Hi There,

I am a complete newbie to Vicidial so please bare with me, also never really used Unix before apart from 20 years ago at Uni so be gentle!

Having some problems setting up our Switch2Voip SIP account on ViciDial

We Dial ONLY to the UK at the moment.
Our Carrier Settings...

CarriedID: Switch2Voip
Carrier Name: Switch To Voip
Carried Description: SwitchTo Voip
Admin User Group: ---ALL---

register => 3907327000:xxxx@sip.switch2voip . us/siptrunking

Account Entry...

[Switch2Voip]
username=3907327000
type=peer
secret=xxxxxxx
progressinband=never
port=5060
nat=auto
insecure=very
ignoresdpversion=yes
host=sip.switch2voip . us
dtmfmode=rfc2833
context=from-trunk
canreinvite=no
allow=g711&g723

Globals String: <blank>

Dialplan Entry:
exten => _944.,1,AGI(agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log)
exten => _944.,2,Dial(sip/${EXTEN:1} @ Switch2Voip,55,o)
exten => _944.,3,Hangup

Output from CLI...

sip.switch2voip . us:5060 Y 3907327000 120 Request Sent

Vici1*CLI> exit

I can ping google ok and get a response.

I edited /etc/resolv.conf file and added
nameserver 217.13.128.17
nameserver 217.13.128.27

I am guessing the
Switch2Voip/3907327000 66.33.146.52 5060 UNREACHABLE
and
"Registration for '3907327000@sip.switch2voip.us timed out, trying again (Attempt #191)
are the problems...

Any help most appreciated.

[pls note i have had to put a space in between switch2voip . us as system things my message is too spammy for my first post!]
Thx

The fastest and easiest way to solve most of the pain with registration is to avoid it all together. I HIGHLY recommend switchinh to IP Based Authentication. You give your provider your IP and they use that in place of registration. I have always hated registration and the issues that come with it.
