Agent Alert

Other users have posted questions regarding changing the agent alert tone, but my problem is that Vicidial seems to be ignoring the Agent Alert Filename.

In the In_Group settings Agent Alert Filename is set to ding. I have also tried ding.gsm. However, when a call is received we hear the sound of a call disconnecting ( a 'bloop' type sound). On previous versions with the same settings we hear more of a 'ding ding' sound.

The same sound is heard after the "You are the only person in this conference" when agents log in whereas before this was also the 'ding ding' sound.

I have played the ding.gsm in the audio store on both my current version and previous version and it is actually a short single beep, so I am not sure where sounds are coming from.

The entry "bloop" and leave "swish" sounds are not actually sound files used by Asterisk, they are compiled into the code as used by app_meetme.so within Asterisk. Because of this they are extremely difficult to change.

The Agent Alert sound used for in-group configurations is in addition to the meetme sound for a call entering the session.

If you want to remove the default Asterisk enter and leave sounds, you can just add a 'q' flag to the Meetme entries in the extensions.conf file.

I uploaded a sound file into the Audio Store then set the Agent Alert Filename to this sound, but the agents aren't hearing it after the Asterisk entry "bloop".

I went to Admin > Servers and set Sounds Update to Y and clicked 'Submit' but still nothing. Do I have to restart the machine or upload the audio file somewhere else or set some other setting? Does the audio file have to follow a specific naming convention? I tried with .wav and .gsm.

It does not look like it is even trying to play the Agent Alert Filename. I only see it playing sip-silence. I have tried with No Delay Call Route: set to Y and N. The in_groups that have Agent Alert Filename set as the default 'ding' don't have any additional audio played either.
