Autoplay an mp3 when lead picks up phone? (Auto pitch)

I'm thinking of testing out a new idea.

I have a pitch that doesn't require interaction or responses from the lead until it becomes clear the intention of the call.

I'd like to be able to record myself saying the pitch, and then have vicidial play it down the line when the customer pics up.

So the customer either hangs up, says no thanks (or words to that effect lol), or engages with the pitch.
I hope to be able to hear myself so I can integrate myself with the call as soon as relevant.

Could this be as simple as changing the "boop" audio, since I think the customer hears that upon connect?

It would only be myself on this campaign, so when I step in, the voice would be the same. The intention here is just to save me from saying the same thing over and over, and crunch numbers easier and quicker.

Versions: not yet provisioned, but will probably be using the latest 32 bit preloaded vicibox.

You do have to push the button in this version to initiate the audio (since you have no idea how long their "Hello, this is bob, what can I do ya for?" is going to last.

And you have the addition of lots of other pre-recorded items in your own voice for that "perfectly recorded" rebuttal and/or the legally required disclosure.

I "suppose" it would be possible to use AMD or similar to wait for silence and auto-play the first recording, though.

Predefined manually after recording, ie 3 seconds. ..

So could this be done?

Could someone tell me what I can read to learn exactly how this system (ViciDial & Asterisk) works?
I'm tired of trial and error, and guess work.
I'd like to be able to answer my own questions, and even help others.

I came back to this question because I'd hoped to learn more about this.
What resources do people advise?
