I've been wondering if I can remove/delete a particular phone number in the lead list. Is it possible?

Yes, here's how:
1) Make a status in your system to be used only for deleting leads. It needs to be agent selectable ONLY for the next step. Otherwise it should be set to "Agent Selectable" = N.
2) Look up the lead to be removed and change it's status to the one created above.
2) Go to Reports > Admin Utilities > Basic Lead Management Tools
3) Use the delete lead section. Select the list it's on (it needs to be inactive and contain less than 100K leads) and the status you want.
4) Click SUBMIT and it will delete any lead with that status.
