Hi all,

Whenever I update the OS server packages / security updates dahdi always needs to be rebuilt otherwise agents are unable to log in successfully.

Has anybody else experienced this issue? If so, I would appreciate any guidance.

Best regards

That's because DAHDI is a kernel module. When you alter the kernel (via package updates), dahdi has to be rebuilt to match it. Never gonna change. 8-)

Stop updating your packages. White list lockdown your server and stop messing with it when it's working.

yes learned the hard way and now updating only vicidial via svc after few days new svc is released (so incase if there is any issue with svc it will b reported by others or test in vm before updating)

Once again: There's NO reason to continually update. Maybe monthly. I'd recommend doing it only during holidays (so there's nobody working and you can test easily). New features don't come out that often.

You're just makin' "busy work". If you have your system whitelist locked, it's secure. No reason to make extra work.

I'm gonna bet you have a nice College Degree. Dunno why, just get that impression. 8-)

Thanks for your replies. I like to update the packages as some of the servers are net facing (whitelist isn't possible for some clients).

Working in security, i'm always paranoid :D

@williamconley, no college degree - started working in IT just as I finished school, 16 years ago.

Again, thanks for the replies.

If you have a public facing Vicidial server, you should re-think your system design. Vicidial should never be accessible to the public. Whitelist only.
