I would like agents to be able to copy text from a customer chat. Sometimes customers give information that I would like filled in on the Main Information or Custom Form tabs and the agents have to type, which leaves room for error and is more time consuming. How can I modify the chat to allow text copy?

1) Firebug is useful, if you're familiar with it and detail oriented.

2) Click on the agent number above the chat box (if still visible) and drag down and if your reflexes are quick enough you get the text. LOL

3) Here's the fun one: (at least on our installation)
Click somewhere inside the "Mut Alert Sound" text and drag UP into the text you want to copy. A little bit of magic then occurs and it suddenly highlights ALL the text in the box. Then when you click Copy, you get all of it.

4) Yep, I think a "copy" button would probably be a great feature request. Perhaps you should sponsor it ...

We're working on a fix so that it will only refresh the messages if a new one is sent/received, that will allow much easier copying of text within the chat frame.

We're actually in the middle of adding some new features to chat, like user nicknames and different color backgrounds for each participant. When those are done, this fix will be committed too.
