Vicibox 6.0.4 from .iso | Vicidial 2.12-538a Build 160122-1401 | Asterisk 1.8.32.3-vici | CLuster setup: 1 web 1 DB 5 telephony | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation

do you need asterisk V11 to use webphones?

we want to start using them so that we can have "roaming" user profiles. Our agents change seats on a daily basis and we need to find a solution that doesnt involve editing a softphone account on every station

You can try https://github.com/iboam/Vici-Linphone (only with Mozilla Firefox) or https://chornyitaras.github.io/PBXWebPhone/ (with ssl and WebRTC)

You do not need to assign phones to agents. The agent can use any phone they like. That's why there are two separate logins with "Phone login" being first. The first page allows the agent to tell Vicidial where they are sitting today, the second login tells Vicidial who they are for statistical tracking.

And yes, you need Asterisk 11 for WebPhone installation. You'd likely do well to build a virtual vicidial server for testing to be sure everything works as you require before modifying your physical server. Just remember that the virtual server can only handle 1 or 2 calls, so don't try to use it for anything beyond testing/development.

thank you for that William .. keeping the softphones static to a seat and allowing users to login to where ever they want have been helpful and works flawlessly. Thanks again!
