Hi!

It looks like survey is using app playback so DTMF input isn't accepted before playback is finished.

I'm trying to do DTMF input on a survey before the message is finished playing - is this possible?

No, it's not using the dialplan at all. It's using AGI "stream_file" and listening for DTMF input. We set these up for clients almost every day and have no problems with being able to DTMF interrupt the initial survey prompt.

It could be DTMF issue check your sip.conf file the settings related to DTMF
dtmfmode = rfc2833 (default you can try other methods)
relaxdtmf=yes
