Good Day Vicidial Group,

I've been using Vicibox for years now and i need to say, you guys made quite a work or art. But in this point in time, i need to use a scratch install of the Vicibox's latest version:

OpenSuse Leap
Asterisk 11
Vicidial VERSION: 2.12-563a BUILD: 160801-2119

It would be highly appreciated if Kumba or William or anyone could post a Scratch Install Instructions ...

Thank you for your continues support and more power ...

I have a silly question:

WHY do you need to "scratch" install on Leap, when Vicibox is a Leap installation already? (Doesn't really matter, but proper etiquette would have been to include this information ... even if the reason is "our new corporate policy.)

And while answering, remember that we often find a solution outside your original pathway ... 8-)

Next up: You already have the scratch installation method on the Vicibox install CD. When you type "os-install", the script that runs will install the OS and necessary packages. Reading that script would allow you to duplicate the fire.

Then after the OS is installed, you type "vicibox-install". Guess what? That, too is a script on the CD and also on the resulting installed OS's HD which has the rest of the install information.

If your intention is to replicate this in SuSEStudio, however, I have some slightly "less than optimal" news: Kumba does not provide this. That portion is proprietary. The source code for the entire installation, however, is fully available on the CD you download from Vicibox.com

I have to do a scratch install because the opensuse 42.3 bout disk recognizes my cciss array hard disk and the vicibox install disk doesn't. Amy up to date instructions on how to do this install?

Copy the vicidial install scripts from Vicibox 8's iso installer. Mostly "vicibox-install". Either mount the .iso and extract it, or install it on some other machine (old desktop?) and use that as a reference for what the install should look like when done.

Be prepared for missing components and possibly the need to start over after you identify (and pre-install) any of them. Never fear the re-install. It gets you familiar with the system, and that's a Good Thing. Even if it works perfectly we require new technicians to reinstall many times to become comfortable with the install process and all the concepts involved.

Thanks Bill! I am going to try that now and get back to you. I did get it working with Centos 7 but I could not get the custom fields working properly and I also could not use the DGG on it so I decided to try it with the opensuse.

Of course, you could just install with an older .iso, like 4.0.3 perhaps. Might work.

Weirdly enough it is really hard for me to make a bootable usb even though the cd boots. No problem to make a bootable usb from the dvd iso though.
