LOG TABLES

Hi

I saw that some log tables like call_log table are very big, and for reporting the queries are more slowly every day.

Is there a problem if I delete the data from call_log, vicidial_agent_log and vicidial_log tables?

THANKS

You can certainly delete them at any time, it will only affect the reports that those days cover.

You do need to keep in mind that some regulatory authorities require that you keep call logs for a specified period of time, usually 2 years.

What I usually recommend doing is setting up an archive table to house all of the older log records and then roll the old records into them and delete them from the active logs to keep them more managable and faster.

Thanks Matt
How many register has your vicidial call_log table? OR What is the size of your call_log table? Do you clean it at any time? Is there any problem if the call_log table is very big?
I am asking you these because my boss clicks in the Reports --> AGENT PERFORMANCE DETAIL --> SUBMIT very very often to see the SALES, and day by day that request report is more slowly, and some day it will so slow that my boss will not have the reports in long times  , I think

Thanks again

The Agent Performance Detail report uses the vicidial_agent_log talbe, not the call_log table. I do archive the vicidial_agent_log about once a month to an archive table. I do this all manually and don't really have any instructions to do it, but that is probably a good idea for me to add to a MAINTENANCE.txt document or something like that.

Matt,

Which Regulatory Authority requires these records be kept for 2 years?

Also, is there now a MAINTENANCE.TXT?

Thanks.

The FTC requires that if doing outbound calling to consumers to sell something that you keep all call records for 2 years.

No, there currently isn't a MAINTENANCE.txt file.
