can i use vicidial for lead search only?

Hi,
im new in using vicidial.
i want to know if can i use vicidial only for lead searching and lead separation process only.
the thing is...
this is my set up...
i have a softphone and it has no setup for SIP trunk(phone.com)
i want my agent to get my uploaded leads in vicidial and manually copy the phone number and dial it in the softphone we are using.
the thing is i got this error...
the vicidial is dialing the phone number cuz its show in the agent screen that the STATUS is "calling" and it has a wait for ring timer...
and no one is in your session : (session ID#)
i need to set up the vicidial like this...
the agent click vicidial and log in...
they need to click dial next number(but the vicidial its self did not dial the phone number)
then the agent see the info of the customer and call it in the softphone we are using.
then tag this as (VM,NI,DC,SM,etc.) - dispo.
and thats it...
no sip trunk settings and so on...
can any one help me for this please?
by the way...
i only install vicibox and follow along the pdf instruction on the website...
i didnt read the managers manual or the agent manual...
i only follow all the instruction in the pdf file.
i install vici-express
