Voice Quality - Auto switch carriers

Can I set a threshold for voip quality somehow and then have vicidial switch to another carrier if it goes below this threshold.

Also is there any systematic checklist (for dummies) that I can use to ensure everything in my power is being done to ensure high voice quality?

There is no response whatsoever to my question so...although I am not the admin I would venture to guess that this easily qualifies as spamming.

I totally posted to the wrong thread. Sorry again.

To handle your problem, one solution would be saving call-quality metrics to a CSV using SIPp.
http://sipp.sourceforge.net/

Then, have a cron job that checks the stats for your bare minimums (latency, packet-loss, etc).

If your minimums are not met, you can switch the carrier. Unfortunately, the VICIDIAL API does not have this as an endpoint, so you'd likely have to work directly with the MySQL database to initiate this.

Of course, the easiest method of ensuring high call quality is working with a trusted carrier so you know any issues are due to the dialer. Then you can focus your attention on ensuring that you have the internet speed and server resources to keep packet-loss to a minimum.

Hope that helps.
