I have setup an ingroup with on hook remote agents but noticed the agent alert sound does not play when you answer a call. Is that a misconfiguration of does it simply not work with remote agents?

That feature does not work with Remote Agents because they do not use standard agent meetme sessions.

I see. Is there another way to let the agent know what ingroup the call is coming from? I have set the caller ID for the ingroup to display the ingroup name and phonenumber of the caller but this does not work when you are on the road and answer with your mobile phone.

There is currently no option for audio alerts for Remote Agents, and if one were to be added, it would not be a simple feature to add.
