Lots of calls (autodialing) with dead air and no beep sound.

The agents are getting quite a few calls with no *boop* sound just before the calls. These calls are usually dead air and there is nothing on them.
What could be reason for these?
All the servers are on 20-30% load

Sounds like it could be either false answers or calls being cut off as they get to the agents. Check your asterisk logs to see if they are being cut off by the carrier as they are being transfered to an agent. Try dialing a few of the numbers manually and see if you get more information.

false answers = FAS collect the calls that had the issue and contact your carrier immediately.

NO FAS anymore, and we removed a lot of 404s, 408s & 503 (invalid numbers) but still a lot of blank calls.
What else could be it?
The carrier wouldn't get anything out of disconnecting a call....

FAS can and will happen on valid numbers. Don't assume that since you removed bad numbers that FAS was also taken out of the picture. FAS does not discriminate. To me it sounds like FAS.
