Just did a slave server using Vicibox. Made life real simple! However I noticed it doesnt set the read-only parameter in my.cnf. Noticed it has skip slave errors for 1032,1690,1062. Should read-only be set or is that considered no longer needed now? I plan on using the salve for backup/reporting usage only.

You can try read-only if you like, but the important setting is to enable skipping of errors.
