hi,

You should not update extensions-vicidial.conf. It is an autogenerated file and will be over written by changes made from the vicidial UI.
Whatever changes you want to to do either do it from UI or change in extensions.conf (not recommended)

thanks

Custom dialplan entries can be added either via the "Admin->Carriers" dialplan value OR in "Admin->System Settings" custom dialplan value. Test and you will see how they are dispersed.

Note that any changes directly to extensions-vicidial.conf will obviously be overwritten within a day. Any changes to extensions.conf will need to be tracked and re-changed at each upgrade. But those made in carriers or system settings will survive upgrade.

If you re sure what you re doing you can also write your own dial plan on /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf

default context = for agents outbound and internal calls

trunkinbound= trunk incoming calls

custom context= do what ever you want

But beware that manual alterations to this file will need to be re-entered after upgrade. It's necessary to reload these base conf files during upgrade in case there are changes in them. So after an upgrade, when these are overwritten, you'll need to make your changes again.

Thus adding those changes to system settings custom dialplan entry instead is the recommended method (and why that field exists in system settings).
